Minutes from the 2008 All-day Singing

"We're gathered together -- and rising in song."

4th Annual “Connexion” and Jeremiah Ingalls Singing
Newbury, Vermont
Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Highlights from the 2008 All-day singing....

Hold OnComposed by Daniel Hertzler of Windsor Vt. with poetry by the composer. prepare for beautiful chords and time changes... Hold on!!!

The Eden of LoveThis wide-arching folk-hymn with its atmospheric musical colors and and synesthesic poetry paints an intoxicating image of the next world....

Channel of MercyA poem familar to singers from the Lloyd's book, with Jeremiah's own special rhythm. The tune has a Cymric flavor, sung in four beats.

Wedding HymnAn immaculate and exquisitely crooked gem is vintage Ingalls, with it's almost Gypsy sonority and melodic contour. This is Vermont roots music like no other!!!

UnderhillA one-verse fugue tune in E minor, by Bruce Randall. First performace of this work by one of fasola's most prolific and distinctive composers....

LawrenceAn early composition by Jesse Pearlman Karlsberg. *Experimental Harmony* and surprising discords to be sure --yet strangely addictive.... Bet you can't listen to it only once!
